Interprovincial Applicants

Notice: Scheduled System Closure from August 24 to September 4, 2018

Due to CRPNBC’s transition to the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP), we anticipate our IT systems will be down from close of business on August 24 to September 4, 2018 (subject to unforeseen changes). New applicants will not be able to submit Initial and First Registration applications during this time.

Any applications started before the closure date but not submitted will be lost and you will need to start again when the BCCNP system is up and running. More information will be posted here as it becomes available. Please contact the College office if you have any questions.

The Canadian Free Trade Agreement facilitates the interprovincial mobility of RPNs by allowing Practicing registration in one province to be recognized as being able to register in another. Currently, psychiatric nursing is recognized as a distinct profession only in the four Western provinces, each of which has its own psychiatric nursing regulator:

  • British Columbia – College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC (CRPNBC)
  • Alberta – College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA)
  • Saskatchewan – Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
  • Manitoba – College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM)
